Some of our year 2 gardening club members were very excited to harvest some winter lettuce and radicchio from the school garden before half term and each took some leaves home to try. Sadly the broad beans didn't survive the recent harsh weather but the children still benefited from learning why it happens and how it can be avoided next time around. Plans are now already underway for crops that can be grown and harvested before the summer holidays.
Meanwhile, we've been growing some herbs on the windowsill inside and getting outside when we can. Hopefully the ground will be soft enough to dig in this week so we can finish our worm farm!
